Odd/Even Parking Begins Nov. 1
Seasonal Parking rules begin on many neighborhood streets Saturday, Nov. 1! Depending on the neighborhood, this includes odd/even parking and same-side parking.
These restrictions allow City street sweepers and snowplows easier access to neighborhood streets while clearing roads of leaves, tree debris and snow throughout the fall and winter. These parking restrictions also help to keep one lane of traffic open and available for residents as well as emergency and public service vehicles.
This photo was taken by resident Luci Anderson of Fire Trucks that were unable to respond quickly to a business fire (Sam's Party Store) on 2/27/2014 due to cars being parked on both sides of the street blocking vehicles from passing through.
This is especially important for Emergency vehicles. Not following the parking rules can limit vehicle access for emergencies such as fire and medical response. In the past we have had Fire trucks unable to get to fires.
Please help our neighborhood stay safe and remember to think ahead before bed.
